Zach Bryan’s Ex Brianna Chickenfry Reveals Plan To Leave U.S. and Move to Australia After Bitter Breakup: ‘Maybe I’ll Find a Man’

Country music star Zach Bryan‘s ex-girlfriend, Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia, is attempting to flee the bitter New York weather—and her bitter breakup—by moving to Australia, where she plans to ride out the winter months on a beach.

LaPaglia, 26, shared the news on her TikTok account, where she revealed that she will relocate to Australia when her $13,000-a-month lease on her lavish Manhattan penthouse ends in “two months.”

The Barstool Sports star confessed that her decision to move across the globe stemmed largely from her hatred of the cold winter weather in New York, joking that she cannot stand the thought of surviving another East Coast tundra.

“This is a very important debrief so lock in,” she began her video. “I live in New York City, my lease is up in two months.

“Every winter in New York, I get absolutely depressed. It’s so freezing, it’s so dark, I just hate my life. So I had the idea of moving to Australia for two months, for January and February. It’s warm, it’s fun, I don’t know, maybe I’ll find an Australian man?”

LaPaglia, who is originally from Boston, went on to reveal that she has already chosen the home where she’s planning to live—before asking her TikTok followers for advice on whether to forge ahead with her plans, conceding that she doesn’t know enough about Australia to be sure that it’s the right place for her to be.

“I put a house on hold in Byron Bay. But I don’t know if that’s where I want to go. I don’t know much about Australia,” she admitted. “I’ve been to Sydney, I’ve been to Melbourne, I don’t know. … I want a house, I want to be near the beach. I just want to be warm and have fun and be safe. So what do I do?

“Also, is Australia a good place for me to go do this? Should I go somewhere else?”

The podcast host noted that, while many of her followers could well have suggested she travel back to Edinburgh, where she recently enjoyed a solo vacation, that would “defeat the purpose” of living somewhere that has a warm climate during the winter.

Plus, she added: “Once I’m over there for two months, I can travel everywhere else. So I’ll definitely be going back to Edinburgh.”

The news of LaPaglia’s impending move prompted something of a debate in her comments section, where some TikTok users praised Byron Bay as their “favorite” area of Australia—while others were quick to warn her about the terrifyingly large spiders that are found in the country.

“Okay but the HUGE spiders in Australia? No thanks… maybe like Costa Rica or Thailand?” one person suggested, as another simply wrote: “Have you seen the spiders?”

Others questioned what LaPaglia would do with her beloved pet dog, Boston, while she is out of town, a point that she neglected to address in her clip.

Currently, the “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” star is currently living with her pooch in a sprawling New York City penthouse, which she moved into back in December, just a few weeks after her relationship with Bryan, 29, came to a bitter end.

The enormous two-bedroom, two-bathroom abode on the Lower East Side sprawls across 1,269 square feet, features a lofted bedroom space, and a private outdoor terrace.

“I’m sickly grateful for this. I feel like I’m going to throw up, I’m going to cry, I’m going to laugh. I’m just so freaking happy right now,” she said while showing off the space in a TikTok video—on which many of her followers expressed their joy at seeing her so happy in the wake of her breakup.

LaPaglia and her former beau all but broke the internet in October 2024, when their split was made public by the country music singer who revealed the news of their breakup in a statement posted on his Instagram account.

“Brianna and me have broken up with each other and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart,” he wrote. “She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I’ll always thank her.

“I have had an incredibly hard year personally and struggled through some pretty severe things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways. I am not perfect and I never will be. With everything I am and to anyone I let down, I am sorry. I try my best in everything. I failed people that love me and mostly myself.”

However, what appeared to be a mutual parting of ways was then turned into a sensational internet drama when LaPaglia shared her own response in an emotional and teary-eyed YouTube video, insisting that she had been “blindsided” by Bryan’s decision to post the statement, claiming it had been shared without her knowledge.

“I had no idea that post was going up,” she said. “I’m completely blindsided by that.”

During the 12 months since their split, both LaPaglia and Bryan have levied several allegations about the other’s behavior during the romance—with the former claiming that her former partner had offered her $12 million to sign an NDA preventing her from speaking out about their breakup, which she turned down.

She further claimed that Bryan’s team prepared multiple “options” for her after the split in a bid to ensure her silence. Sharing screenshots of messages that she said were from Bryan’s representatives, LaPaglia laid bare the so-called “options” that were put in front of her.

The first offer included Bryan’s “Duxbury house + 3 million” while the second was a cash payment of $10 million.

“Terms would be: say nothing about Zach,” the message went on. “Just say, ‘yeah we broke up, really want to move on and heal.'”

The other terms included refusing to talk about “the non public cheating,” ensuring that a recording made by LaPaglia’s close friend and former podcast co-host, Grace O’Malley, about her relationship with Bryan “never gets talked about,” and remaining distanced from any public discussions by Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy about her romance.

“Basically Brianna will be the verification for any speculated rumors or conspiracies,” the message added. “She will deflect or defend Zach in moments people try to pry and the relationships and details during it.”

Though LaPaglia has not ever released any recordings of the abuse she says she suffered at Bryan’s hands during their year-long romance, she has spoken out on a number of occasions about the breakdown of their relationship, including in a YouTube video that was shared just days after they split.

The podcaster has doubled down on her claims against Bryan while appearing in the Fox competition show “Special Forces,” saying during one episode that there were “a lot of red flags,” which she missed when they first started dating.

“My ex is a super famous musician. He was awful towards me,” she told her fellow contestants. “He got famous on TikTok and thinks he’s God.”
