The A Rift in the Gerudo Desert main quest line takes you deep into ruins, filled with formidable challenges. You’ll need to mend the rift here to help Tri and save the helpless Gerudo warriors.

Here’s how to find all Tri’s friends in the Zelda Echoes of Wisdom Stilled Desert Temple Ruins.

All Tri friend locations in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom A Rift in the Gerudo Desert

As per Tri’s instructions, you’ll discover its friends in the Stilled Desert Temple Ruins. We’ll break down each of them by showing all Tri’s friend locations, completing the A Rift in the Gerudo Desert quest in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom.

As you step into the Stilled Desert Temple Ruins, you’ll encounter a ladder directly ahead. Go down it and watch out for the Platboom Echo, who will drop down to inflict damage. Rest assured, the enemy shouldn’t be strong enough to kill you even if you get in its path. Get past the foe by luring it in for the drop (make its eyes look down) and walk ahead once it ascends. You can also attack it with your Swordfighter Form or Echoes when it’s down.

Continue forward, and you should spot one of Tri’s friends. However, two more Platbooms will be in your way, and you can get rid of them the same way you may have before. Start making a stair-like contraption by placing two trampolines and two boulders on top of each other.

Go back up the ladder and take a left to start jumping across a few floating objects. One of Tri’s friends will be up on a rocky terrain, so you must make another stair-like creation. There are plenty of ways to go about it, but if you need an idea, you can utilize Trampolines, a Wooden Box, and a Decorative Shrub (all of which are early Echoes).

Place the items in this order:

  1. Trampoline (farthest away)
  2. Wooden Box (one block ahead)
  3. Decorative Shrub (closest to Tri’s friend)
  4. Trampoline (on top of box)
  5. Trampoline (on top of shrub)

The result should look like this (place the last Trampoline once you reach the second one):

Return to the area with a ladder and place a Trampoline to get up top. Take a right to discover a sideways platform. I recommend eliminating the enemy here first since it’ll be challenging to travel with it. I just used a Crow and the Swordfighter Form to get rid of it, but you can opt for another technique.

Now, start using the beds to get across the gaps. Place one down to reach the stone platform, then use two more afterward. It should look like this:

Toward the midpoint, place a bed and Trampoline on top of it to reach the platform above.

Take a right to discover another Tri friend location for the A Rift in the Gerudo Desert quest. Place two beds to get across and push the boulder out of the way to save them.

Go back across to the platforms from the third Tri friend location and jump down to a sandy area. Then, travel north to find another sideways platform. Although you can use Echoes to reach Tri’s friend, I find it best to simply jump on over. Go on top of the tree and hop on a stone below. You should be able to get to the friend from here.

Tilt your camera toward the left while at the fourth Tri friend location to spot another one. Jump up to the elevated terrain and place a Trampoline. Hop on it and go toward the left side.

Place one Trampoline and two more to get to the final friend (or use any stair creation you desire). You’ll then complete the last task of the Zelda Echoes of Wisdom A Rift in the Gerudo Desert quest.
