The Streets to play ‘A Grand Don’t Come For Free’ in full for first time on summer 2026 UK tour

The Streets  have today (October 9) announced that they will play their iconic album ‘A Grand Don’t Come For Free’ in full on the road for the first time next year.

The Mike Skinner-led outfit will perform the album, which has released in 2004, from “front-to-back across an exclusive run of shows in the UK in 2026,” as per a statement.

The album went to Number 1 in the Official UK Charts upon its release and eventually went multi-platinum. It featured a string of hits for the band including ‘Dry Your Eyes’, ‘Fit But You Know It’ and ‘Blinded By The Lights.’

Speaking about the album and upcoming shows,  Mike Skinner saidL “‘A Grand Don’t Come For Free’ was a moment in time — for me, and for everyone who grew up with it. I wrote it as a story from beginning to end, even studying screenwriting to shape it and without the faintest idea how people would react.

“We’ve been looking for something bold to do with the live show, and we landed here: some tracks have never been played live, others haven’t surfaced in years. It’s a new challenge to bring the whole journey to life on stage, but I have an incredible band and we always give everything every night. So I’m certain we’ll make finding out what happened to that thousand quid a party every night.”

The tour kicks off in the UK in February 2026 with dates across major UK headline shows throughout the summer.

Tickets for The Streets’ ‘A Grand Don’t Come For Free’ 2026 tour will open with an announcement on October 9 at 4pm BST, when fans can sign up for access to the artist presale. The artist presale begins on October 14 at 10am BST, followed by general sale from October 17 at 10am BST. You can buy your tickets here.

Last year, the band shared a new single called ‘No Better Than Chance’ and announced a mix for the ‘Fabric Presents…’ series.

The project saw the band create a 31-track release for Fabric as the iconic London club continues its 25th anniversary celebrations. Previous contributors to the series include Shygirl, Leon Vynehall and Overmono.

“I’ve spent many nights wasted but not wasted any nights in Fabric over the years,” Skinner explained in a statement at the time.

“The dedication to underground music and innovation, the way the bodysonic bass transducers sent the sounds through your body via your feet, the queues, the camaraderie and a real sense of being part of something that people will remember through the haze as the home of some of the greatest moments of their lives.”

He continued: “When I was asked to do a mix for the anniversary series I couldn’t wait to get on with it. Fabric has become one of the homes of bass music and that’s some of the music I’ve been playing out the most. It’s a pleasure to follow in the footsteps of so many incredible DJs in the Fabric, FABRICLIVE and Fabric Presents series and be part of their celebration. Here’s to many more decades of hedonism.”

The Streets released their last studio album, ‘The Darker The Shadow, The Brighter The Light’, in October 2023 alongside an accompanying film of the same name.
