Located in Aurora, east of downtown Denver, the Benson sits on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and the surrounding Fitzsimons Innovation Community district. This neighborhood is quieter than central Denver, yet offers a convenient base between the airport and downtown. The Common Good headlines the hotel’s amenities by emphasizing local, seasonal ingredients. There’s also a bar/lounge area and spa access, as well as space to work and take calls. Guests particularly like the calm atmosphere, modern rooms, and being slightly away from the busiest downtown core while still being within reach.

Getting there from the airport:From Denver International Airport, take the A-Line train three stops to the Peoria Station then transfer to R-Line to the Fitzsimmons Station. Or, directly hop in an Uber at the airport, typically about 30‐40 minutes depending on traffic. An Uber costs in the $40 to $60 range depending on time of day.

Typical HotelTonight rate: $110 to 150 per night

Populus, a downtown hotel just off Colfax, is steps from the Denver Art Museum and the 16th Street Mall. You’ll notice the property from further away – its striking architecture (inspired by aspen trees) and its sustainability credentials — it earned a MICHELIN Key and is described as the country’s first carbon-positive hotel.

The hotel features two high-end on-site restaurants ()the rooftop Stellar Jay, which specializes in shared plates and cocktails) and the ground-level Pasque, which offers a destination-worthy menu of responsibly-sourced dishes. There’s also a great onsite coffeeshop and the second floor is effectively a coworking space, with beautiful views and inspiring literature on-hand. The architecture is inspired by Colorado’s aspen forest, hence the unforgettable facade.
