Taylor Swift has announced a release party for her album ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’, set to take place in cinemas. Find all the details below.
The singer’s 12th studio record arrives on October 3, following on from 2024’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’.
In celebration, she’ll be bringing the album to the big screen with an 89-minute “release party” event, titled Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, which will run from the Friday release day to Sunday October 5.
The “party” will see the premiere of the first music video from the album for ‘The Fate of Ophelia’, as well as behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot, lyric videos for other songs on the album and Swift’s “never-before-seen personal reflections” about those new songs.
Fans in the US will be able to attend at AMC Theatres, Cinemark and Regal theatres, with tickets available here.
The programme will also be available at the same time in countries including Canada, Mexico, the U.K., France, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Tickets for showtimes in those countries will go on sale on Tuesday (September 23).
Other countries not included on that list will get the film on a later weekend in October.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Swift wrote that the events will include “cut by cut explanations of what inspired this music,” and that “Dancing is optional but very much encouraged.”
‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ was co-produced by Max Martin and Shellback, alongside Swift herself. The singer has revealed the full tracklist for the album, which includes a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter on the title track.
Swift has described the LP as “the record I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time”. The project will focus on “what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life” during the record-breaking ‘Eras Tour’.
She remembered that time as being “so exuberant and electric and vibrant”, explaining: “It just comes from like the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life.” Swift recorded the album in Sweden, in between concerts on the huge tour.
Speaking on New Heights, Swift told fans that there were “no other songs coming” beyond the standard edition tracklist: “With ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, I was like, ‘Here’s a data dump of everything I thought and felt in two or three years. Here’s 31 songs’. This is 12. There’s not a 13th, there’s not other ones coming.”
Swift’s appearance on the podcast came shortly before she announced her engagement to Kelce. The NFL player’s father has since shared some details about the “beautiful” proposal.
In other news, there is currently speculation about Swift potentially headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2026.
Meanwhile, approximately 500 Target branches are set to open at midnight on October 3 in the US to sell ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’.
Swift will also be appearing on The Graham Norton Show on the day of her album’s release.
