Miranda Kerr Opens Up About the Screen Time Limits She and Evan Spiegel Set for Their Kids in Their $120M L.A. Mansion

Model Miranda Kerr has opened up about the shocking rules she and her husband Evan Spiegel have for their four kids when it comes to screen time inside their sprawling $120 million Los Angeles home.

The 42-year-old runway star and her Snapchat CEO spouse, 35—who tied the knot in 2017—share children Hart, 7, Myles, 6, and Pierre, 19 months, and although Spiegel founded one of the biggest social media apps in the world, they want their children to be kept far away from it.

While speaking on Dear Media’s “The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Show,” Kerr—who also shares son Flynn, 14, with ex Orlando Bloom—revealed that her spouse was raised without many screens around him, and it is important to him they raise their children the same way.

“My husband is very anti-screens for the young ones, because that’s the way he was raised,” she said.

However, the model revealed that she and her hubby have been able to see eye to eye on some screen-time rules when it comes to their older children.

“I’ve said to him, ‘Look, something that feels good to me is maybe on the weekend or a special occasion, curling up with the kids, [the] 6 and 7-year-old and the teenager if he wants to join in, and snuggling up and watching a movie, and he’s like, ‘OK, but not every weekend,'” she added.

And, Kerr revealed that they also allow the older children more access to technology when its summertime and they are off of school.

Kerr said that her oldest son doesn’t have social media apps, other than Snapchat, which they allow thanks to its safety features, which “explain some of the dangers that are happening online.”

“You watch it with them, and it explains very simply what could go wrong or how to prevent it and when to reach out to someone if you feel like something’s off. That’s the way we do it at our house,” she noted.

The couple first splashed out $25 million for one plot of land, then forked over $120 million for a second parcel, according to the New York Post.

Their $125 million close was reportedly backed by a $50 million mortgage.

Last year, Spiegel sold his Brentwood, CA, mansion for $4 million, which was below his asking price.

He originally listed the six-bedroom, eight-bathroom mansion for $19.95 million in March 2024.

In July, the price went down to $17.75 million. Still nobody “snapped” it up.

Finally, the 7,164-square-foot dwelling changed hands in a sale with an even lower number: $16.1 million.

Spiegel still walked away with a hefty profit, having paid $12 million for the home in 2016.

Both Spiegel and Kerr listed their individual properties for sale, after they moved into an incredible $120 million compound in Los Angeles, where they now live with their children.

The enormous property offers the pair ample space and maximum privacy—and plenty more land than they were afforded at their previous homes.

Still, the property that Spiegel just offloaded has plenty of its own alluring amenities.

Designed by California architect Gerard Colcord, the stately property is reached by a long driveway that ends with a motor court. The decor mixes traditional lines with a soothing neutral palette of beige, cream, and white.

The large main room features glass doors that lead to the terrace, a fireplace warms up the formal dining room, and a skylight brightens the luxe kitchen.

The primary suite includes a private balcony with amazing vistas. Along with another fireplace and a seating area, the space comes with two closets and a marble bathroom with a long soaking tub.

Outside, verdant lawns and mature trees surround the pool, the pool house with a catering kitchen, and the two-story guest cottage.

Spiegel developed Snapchat, originally called Picaboo, in 2011. Now, the wildly popular instant messaging app is ubiquitous and used by millions across the globe to send pictures and messages.

The tech entrepreneur’s wife, Kerr, also boasts her own business, a beauty brand called KORA Organics, which she founded in Australia in 2009, before taking it global several years later.
