Las Vegas Strip casino signs another rock superstar for residency

The Las Vegas Strip has been busy lately, featuring headliners in their first residencies at casino showrooms, theaters, and even the Sphere.

In just the last two weeks, major Vegas concert venues have revealed residency debuts by two music superstars.

Rock stars sign for first Las Vegas Strip residencies

The Colosseum at Caesars Palace signed popular 1980s superstar singer Cyndi Lauper for her first-ever Las Vegas Strip residency with five shows scheduled on April 24, 25, 29, and May 1 and 2, 2026.

Lauper brings her popular show to the Strip after the singer completed her 68-show farewell at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Labor Day weekend.

For those not familiar with Lauper, she took MTV and the music industry by storm after releasing her iconic album “She’s So Unusual” in October 1983, becoming the first woman to have four top-five singles from a debut album on the Billboard chart, including her anthem, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.”

About 12 years later, in 1995, another huge rock act, No Doubt, fronted by Gwen Stefani, also shook the music industry with the release of their groundbreaking album “Tragic Kingdom,” which included the No. 1 hit “Don’t Speak.”

No Doubt revealed it has signed on for a six-show residency at Sphere Las Vegas, scheduled for May 6, 8, 9, 13, 15, and 16, 2026. The Oct. 10 announcement coincided with the 30th anniversary of the release of “Tragic Kingdom.”

Bands’ first residencies closed in 2025

Several other popular music acts also wrapped up their first residencies in 2025, including rap star 50 Cent, rocker Lenny Kravitz, and pop star Josh Groban.

Earlier this year, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts performed their first residency on the Strip for five shows at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay between June 13-21, 2025.

Joan Jett rocks for 50 years

The Runaways lasted only about three years but inspired other all-women bands, such as The Bangles and The Go-Go’s.

After The Runaways broke up following a New Year’s Eve concert in 1978 at the Cow Palace, a stone’s throw from San Francisco, Jett went off to form Joan Jett & the Blackhearts in 1980, which had commercial success with “I Love Rock ‘n Roll”, “I Hate Myself For Loving You,” and “Bad Reputation.”
