King Orfeo god rolls and how to get them in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 had quite a portfolio of bows to pick from, but King Orfeo is the first Arc-aligned primary on that list since The Final Shape. Excluding raids and PvP, it’s been even longer since one of these last surfaced—and it’s only available for a limited time.

This event bow benefits from the slew of new perks that arrived since Non-Denouement in The Final Shape, granting you access to a few keywords you couldn’t get with this weapon type before. Our god roll has some usual suspects, but with a few of the novelties that may make it worth keeping a roll of this bow in your vault. Here are our King Orfeo god rolls in Destiny 2, based on data from d2foundry.gg.

King Orfeo PvE god roll in Destiny 2

  • String: Elastic String, Flexible String, or Natural String
  • Fletching: Compact Arrow Shaft or Fiberglass Arrow Shaft
  • First perk: Archer’s Tempo or Explosive Head
  • Second perk: Meganeura, Jolting Feedback, or Rolling Storm

Archer’s Tempo is the versatile go-to perk for boosting your draw time, making you shoot faster as long as you’re hitting crit spots. If you’re looking for a damage-boosting perk, Explosive Head is also here on column three, opening up some unique possibilities. These two are our top picks in most scenarios, and a copy of King Orfeo with both of these is certainly on our list.

Outside of those combinations, Successful Warm-Up acts similarly to Archer’s Tempo but triggers on kills instead of hits, which is better for lower-end content. Pugilist works for melee builds, though those would probably use a weapon better suited for close range. Shoot to Loot is good for specific strategies, though it’s not something we’d choose over our top two.

King Orfeo’s fourth column is what makes this bow stand out, since Archer’s Tempo is more of the rule than the deviation for a god roll. This is the first bow to roll with Meganeura, Jolting Feedback, or Rolling Storm. One of them is a natural pick, while the other two may seem like odd choices.

Meganeura creates an elemental explosion on a precision kill, and dealing rapid precision hits before improves its damage. There’s a clear synergy with Archer’s Tempo here, and we already added one of those rolls to our vault. In practice, it’s close to the Archer’s Tempo/Voltshot roll in Non-Denouement, the Salvation’s Edge bow, though without adding Jolt.

Jolting Feedback and Rolling Storm round out our main picks, bringing the Arc flavor to King Orfeo’s god roll. Both rely on building stacks, but bows aren’t exactly the fastest archetype to do so. Explosive Head might make Jolting Feedback activate sooner, however, which could make this combo more popular.

How to get King Orfeo in Destiny 2

You get your first King Orfeo just by talking to Ada-1 in the Shooting Range during Arms Week. For other rolls, however, you must complete activities that drop Distorted Arms Week Engrams, spend your Combat Telemetry in her inventory, or visit the event shop. Maxing out the 15 ranks on the event track nets you a Holofoil version of this weapon, too, if you’re willing to grind for a shiny roll.
