Arknights Endfield has over 20 different operators to get, and they will form the foundation of your main team.
Operators have different rarities, elements, and roles. You’ll want to keep all those factors in mind when you’re making your squad. Of course, your squad will largely depend on your banner luck, but this guide will help you narrow down which characters are best to use (and which ones are better avoided).

Complete Endfield operator tier list
To separate the operators, I have used four distinct tiers.
- S-tier characters are the best ones to use across all different game modes. They have strong kits and great build potential.
- A-tier characters are the best alternatives to S-tier choices if you haven’t managed to obtain the latter.
- B-tier characters are decent and can do well if you build them well by investing resources.
- C-tier characters should be replaced as quickly as possible since they’re not good enough.
When you create a team, you also need to consider the operator’s role. While the game uses multiple tags, I use a simpler system: DPS, support, and tanks/healers.
S-tier
- Laevatain: She is the best DPS unit in version 1.0, and you’re all set if you manage to pull her from the rate-up banner. She has massive AoE potential, which is useful in almost any situation. Her single-target damage is more than decent, and it only improves as you invest more resources. During my test, a fully-built Laevatain did excellently in every test, and she’s the type of operator you can build a squad around.
- Yvonne: This was a slightly tough ranking to do. Yvonne’s AoE damage potential isn’t the best in the game. She struggles against mobs that have high health. However, she’s one of the best characters for endgame, all thanks to her incredible single-target damage potential. You’ll almost always want to have Yvonne facing a boss.
- Gilberta: This is the best support character you can add to your squad, as Gilberta provides a bunch of buffs and debuffs. She’s also one of the most flexible operators as she works well with all elements. If you get Laevatain or any other AoE specialist, you’ll want to have Gilberta on your team.
- Last Rite: The fact that everyone can get her for free is certainly a bonus, because Last Rite kicks and kicks hard. She has excellent DPS potential that scales up linearly with her build. The more resources you invest, the more damage she does. Works well in several teams as the main DPS, but can switch role to a sub-DPS if you have someone like Yvonne on your team.
- Ardelia: Every good team will require a healer, and more so if you have to clear endgame content. Ardelia is the best healer and provides solid buffs to allies. She also applies Corrosion with her attacks that chip away at the enemy’s health over time.
- Ember: Defender might be my least favorite role, but there’s no denying Ember’s strength. She is the best tank in terms of being a bullet sponge, and her shields can apply on all allies. She also provides heals and serves as the best character for beginners.
A-tier
- Avywenna: Another character that’s extremely feasible for F2P teams. Since she is a five-star, you’ll find it easier to get her duplicates. She excels mainly as a single-target damage, but can target a horde if they’re close.
- Endministrator: The player-character is the most stable choice when it comes to investing resources. Does everything pretty well, and there’s no glaring weakness.
- Pogranichnik: While she is a strong Defender, Pogranichnik requires you to fit her in Physical teams since she raises the damage taken by enemies. I found her to be an excellent DPS with a high-attack DPS who specializes in Physical damage.
- Xaihi: I love Xaihi for her kit and how she almost improves every ally on her team. She can also provide heals that are extremely useful in certain situations. However, you’ll need to use her in Nature and Ice teams to use her full potential.
- Akekuri: Akekuri might be just a four-star character, but she raises the team’s damage with her Ultimate. It’s very easy to get her dupes as well, and she can be your main Supporter for a long time.
- Arclight: Arclight might be a decent support character who excels in the Electric team. She can definitely fit well with others. Unfortunately, she’s a bit too situational to be put into S-tier.
B-tier
- Antal: Antal can be considered as A-tier if you have Laevatain as your main DPS. Antal also works well in other Fire and Electric teams due to the buffs, but falls off with other elements.
- Lifeng: If you’re someone who wants to make enemies Vulnerable and reduce their Physical damage resistance, there’s no better choice than Lifeng. However, she’s only usable in Physical teams, which is a shame.
- Perlica: Does decent damage, and you can obtain her for free. However, her utility falls off when she’s not part of an Electric team.
- Wulfgard: Similar to Perlica, Wulfgard’s main utility is her ability to buff fire damage. If you’re using a Fire elemental team, she’s a cheap alternative worth having on your roster.
- Snowshine: She is the best teammate you can have for Yvonne. She provides shield and heal to Yvonne, and also good if you want to freeze opponents. However, she’s not very meta in the general sense.
C-tier
- Chen Qianyu: She’s available for free and can apply Vulnerability on enemies. There’s not much else to write about otherwise.
- Alesh: Alesh’s skit is highly situational and works with Ice teams, which is the least meta in the current build. If you want to build a team around Last Rite, Alesh could be a good fit.
- Da Pan: Good for chaining combos, but requires other operators who have shorter cooldowns on their abilities.
- Estella: Her ability to freeze works well in Physical-based Ice teams, but is not much use otherwise.
- Catcher: Good for a starting Defender, but there are plenty of better options.
