Phasmophobia Gotta Go Fast! weekly challenge mode tips
The Gotta Go Fast! challenge is one of the trickier ones you can attempt in Phasmophobia, so here are some of the best tips to help you get it done.
- Learn the layout of the Prison map. It’s a massive area to explore, and quite a maze, but it’s much easier to traverse if you’re generally familiar with what it looks like. Load into a custom match with the friendly ghost option turned on so you can freely explore without worrying the ghost will kill you.
- Be wary of early hunters. There’s no setup time in this one, so it’s possible, although unlikely, that you may be hunted as soon as you step on the map. Try to get Crucifixes down around the ghost room as soon as possible to deter this and also ensure you’re always ready to run or hide as needed.
- Run, don’t hide. The one benefit of a massive map like Prison is that you have loads of space to run and loop the ghost. In this trial, it’s always better to run than it is to hide. As long as you just keep running, the ghost will eventually end the hunt. Hiding is always a bit risky since it’s sometimes tough to tell whether the ghost saw you go into your hiding spot, and there aren’t any official hiding spots in this trial anyway.
- Watch for hunt patterns and unofficial evidence. Successfully catching actual evidence is tough since you have no sanity, so the ghost will hunt you very often. Watch out for unofficial evidence and unique hunting patterns to have a better chance at identifying the ghost. Poltergeists throw an item every 0.5 seconds during hunts, Banshees target only one player until they’re deceased, Wraiths never step in Salt, Onis can’t perform the airball event, and so on for most other ghosts. Learn the specific behaviors that make each ghost different and use them to help you catch the ghost.
- Play with friends. Your odds of success are a lot better with allies helping you through this tricky trial. With additional ghost hunters at your side, you can explore the map more quickly, work together to gather evidence, and continue the investigation even if you perish.
- Don’t give up. Since all equipment is provided for free, there’s nothing to lose in this challenge. Because of this, you can keep trying without worrying about losing money or equipment. Give each contract your all and keep at it until you get it done.
