How to unlock Tulin in Animal Crossing New Horizons
To unlock Tulin as a villager, you must scan a valid Zelda amiibo in ACNH. Most characters can be unlocked for free, although they can be tricky to find, but Tulin is a special collaboration character, which means the only way to get him is by purchasing an amiibo add-on to summon him.
The process for recruiting Tulin is much more complex than it is for most other villagers, especially if you’re not familiar with using amiibo, so here’s a full walkthrough of how to get it done.
- Obtain one of the valid Zelda amiibo. Only certain ones can be used to summon Tulin, so be sure to select one of the valid options from the list below to initiate the process of recruiting her.
- Visit resident services. Head to the building near the back of the plaza, which is the same one where you can find Isabelle and Tom Nook.
- Approach the ABD. Interact with the green ATM machine in the right corner to view all available ABD options.

- Scan your Zelda amiibo. Place your amiibo on either of the NFC touchpoints, which are the joysticks, to scan it in.
- Invite Tulin to your campsite. Tulin will appear and ask if you want her to visit your campsite. Say yes, and he will arrive on the island right after.
- Complete Tulin’s request. Visit Tulin at the campsite and talk to him to receive a request. Complete whatever he asks to make the first step toward unlocking him.
