Are you eligible for a new Bilt Rewards card welcome offer? Your biggest Bilt card questions answered

Bilt's big day has arrived, and the window has opened for Bilt Rewards users to select a new Bilt Card 2.0 for their wallet.

The old Bilt Mastercard from Wells Fargo is on its way out, and three new Bilt card options are on the market with new welcome offers to collect valuable Bilt Points and Bilt Cash. You can only earn one welcome offer across all of Bilt's products in a lifetime, so it's important to pick the right one for you:

  • Bilt Blue Card (see rates and fees; $0 annual fee): Receive $100 in Bilt Cash upon approval. Plus, if you apply through TPG and are approved, you can also earn 5 points per dollar spent on purchases (excluding rent and mortgage payments) for the first five days (up to 50,000 bonus points).
  • Bilt Obsidian Card (see rates and fees; $95 annual fee): Receive $200 in Bilt Cash upon approval. Plus, if you apply through TPG and are approved, you can also earn 5 points per dollar spent on purchases (excluding rent and mortgage payments) for the first five days (up to 50,000 bonus points).
  • Bilt Palladium Card (see rates and fees; $495 annual fee): Earn 50,000 bonus points and Bilt Gold status after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening and receive $300 in Bilt Cash upon approval. Plus, if you apply through TPG and are approved, you can also earn 5 points per dollar spent on purchases (excluding rent and mortgage payments) for the first five days (up to 50,000 bonus points).

The information for the Bilt Mastercard has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

The premium Bilt Palladium Card provides an exceptionally valuable welcome offer. If you're able to spend $10,000 to maximize the bonus, you'll earn 100,000 Bilt points, which (when combined with the $300 in Bilt Cash) provides up to $2,500 in value, per TPG's January 2026 valuations.

With an offer this valuable, you'll want to know the rules — and we've got you covered, along with other frequently asked questions about the new cards, your old card and what comes next.

Here are the answers we have.

Who is eligible to apply for a new Bilt card and earn a welcome bonus?

Both cardholders who have the old Bilt Mastercard and new applicants who have never had the Bilt Mastercard are eligible to apply for one of the new Bilt Card 2.0 options and earn a welcome bonus.

Will I be able to earn a welcome bonus on multiple Bilt cards?

No. The Bilt Card 2.0 suite is rolling out with a one bonus per lifetime policy across all three of its card options. This means you can only earn one bonus on one Bilt card in your lifetime.

If I have the old Bilt Mastercard, am I eligible for the welcome bonus on a new Bilt card?

Yes. You'll be able to select either the Bilt Blue Card, the Bilt Obsidian Card or the Bilt Palladium Card and earn that card's welcome bonus — even if you already hold the old Bilt Mastercard.

You'll be able to transition to your new Bilt Card 2.0 seamlessly as long as you select a new card by Jan. 30. Your Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard stops working Feb. 6, and your new Bilt Card 2.0 card will be ready to use Feb. 7.

Can I apply for multiple Bilt cards at the same time?

No. You can only be the primary cardholder on one Bilt card account, so you aren't able to hold multiple Bilt cards or apply for more than one of the Bilt Card 2.0 options at once.

However, you can be added as an authorized user on another Bilt card account.

Can I add authorized users to my Bilt card account?

Yes. You can add up to five authorized users directly in the Bilt app. These authorized users will receive their own card number and be able to track expenses separately.

Here is the price charged per authorized user, depending on which Bilt card you hold:

If you had authorized users on your old Wells Fargo-backed Bilt Mastercard, it's important to note that you'll have to re-add them to your new Bilt Card 2.0 account.

Do I need to cancel my old Bilt Mastercard?

If you choose to transition to a new Bilt Card 2.0, you'll have the ability to transfer any balance from your Wells Fargo account. You may also choose to have Bilt close your Wells Fargo card account on your behalf.

If you choose not to transition to a new Bilt Card 2.0, your old Bilt Mastercard from Wells Fargo will transition to a Wells Fargo Autograph® Card (see rates and fees) with a different card number.

You won't earn Bilt points on the Autograph. Instead, you'll earn Wells Fargo Rewards points.
