Reneé Rapp has announced that she has postponed her tour as she “pushes through an illness.”
The musician apologised to fans after telling them she was taking a break from her ‘Bite Me’ tour to recover from an ongoing illness.
On an Instagram Story, Rapp posted: “In my career I have never had to do this before – but I have to reschedule tonight and tomorrow’s shows. I’ve been pushing through an illness but my body has finally given out.”
Rapp added: “My doctors have told me that it isn’t safe to perform due to the need for vocal rest and physical recovery.”
The musician noted that all original tickets would be valid for rescheduled dates and that she will continue the tour with her scheduled Charlotte stop tomorrow (October 29). The rescheduled tour dates will be announced in due course.
The musician concluded: “I truly appreciate how much time, planning and preparation goes into coming to a show. I can’t describe to you how sorry I am to have to move things around. I love you all and I will see you soon.”

In other news, SZA recently poured praise on Reneé Rapp after she covered ‘SOS‘ track ‘Good Days’.
Rapp stopped by BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge earlier this month (October 17) and performed ‘I Think I Like You Better When You’re Gone’, which is taken from her latest album ‘Bite Me’.
She also continued the long-held tradition of surprise covers by taking on SZA‘s ‘Good Days’ that saw her backed by acoustic guitars and a harp player. After SZA caught wind of the cover, she took to Instagram to praise Rapp.
“Renee is a HUGE inspiration, energy, voice [and] spirit,” SZA wrote on her story. While speaking to NME back in 2023, Rapp was equally complimentary, discussing her love of SZA’s sound and how it informed her production.
“I don’t think that I make the music that I listen to,” she told us. “I listen to artists like Frank Ocean and SZA, but I don’t really make R&B music like them. I take lyricism from them – and I take vocalisations and some phrasing [from them] – but I write pretty pop music at the moment.”
Rapp previewed her newest record with blistering new singles ‘Why Is She Still Here’, ‘Leave Me Alone’, and ‘Mad’, teasing a bold new chapter in her discography.
Rapp had been steadily teasing ‘Bite Me’ in a similar fashion to the tour, unveiling a new website which urged fans to “sign NDAs” that then revealed hints about the album. Posts from the likes of Paris Hilton, Charlize Theron and Monica Lewinsky also teased the album.
