Ring’s Battery Doorbell Plus has returned to its October Prime Day price

Ring’s Battery Doorbell Plus is on sale for $79.99 ($70 off)

After extensive testing we selected Ring’s Battery Doorbell Plus as the best battery-powered doorbell camera, and it has returned to its all-time low price of $79.99 ($70 off) at Amazon for the second time ever. If you missed out on picking up the video doorbell on sale during Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days, now is your next chance to grab one at the same price.

Where to Buy:

We liked Ring’s Battery Doorbell Plus because of its high resolution video recordings and head-to-toe view, which allows you to see an entire person or keep an eye on the package on your porch. It runs on removable, rechargeable batteries that lasted around two months per charge in our tests with HDR and snapshot capture enabled. You can eke out extra battery life by disabling those features, or pick up a spare set of batteries to make a quick swap.

If you subscribe to a Ring Home plan starting at $4.99 per month ($49.99 per year), you’ll get people and package detection, plus access to the last 180 days of recorded video. Jumping up to a premium plan for $19.99 per month ($199.99 per year) enables Ring’s AI-powered search feature, which is in beta and lets you sort through recordings if you’re looking for a clip with something specific (animals, vehicles, a specific color). If you prefer to use a battery-powered video doorbell instead of hardwiring one, Ring’s Battery Doorbell Plus is our top recommendation.

Alternatively, you can pick up a bundle compromising the Ring Battery Doorbell and Ring Chime for $64.99 ($60 off) at Amazon. The non-Plus model records lower resolution video and doesn’t have removable batteries (you have to remove the entire doorbell to charge it). The Ring Chime plugs directly into an outlet, and allows you to hear alerts in real time when someone rings your doorbell or motion is detected by the doorbell or a Ring camera.

  • If you’re tired of your coffee or tea getting cold before you finish drinking it, Ember’s 14oz Temperature Control Smart Mug 2 can help, and it’s on sale for $89.99 ($60 off) at Amazon and Best Buy. The mug has battery-powered heating elements that allow you to set your preferred drink temperature using an app. It’ll maintain that temperature for about 80 minutes before needing to be recharged on its coaster-shaped wireless charging pad. You can keep using the Ember Mug while it’s charging to keep your beverage warm all day.
  • One hardware limitation on all iPad models (including the new M5 iPad Pro) is that they only have one port, so you can’t charge the tablet and connect a USB accessory at the same time. Zagg’s 6-Port Media Hub fixes that issue, and it’s $84.99 ($15 off) when you clip a digital coupon at Amazon. The hub, which is also compatible with Android tablets and laptops (including Chromebooks) has an SD card slot, microSD card slot, USB-A port, HDMI port, headphone jack, and USB-C port with 100W of passthrough charging. It connects to your device’s USB-C port using a built-in cable, and doubles as a stand to keep it upright while you work. The hub also has physical media control buttons on its front side, so you can easily pause, play, or skip through songs or videos.
  • Xgimi’s Horizon 20 Max just came out, but a coupon knocks its price down to $2,399 ($600 off) at Amazon. The triple laser 4K projector has a 5,700 lumen bulb, so its picture should hold up even in rooms with some light, and it can create a screen up to 300 inches. It supports HDR10 Plus and Dolby Vision HDR, and is equipped with a pair of HDMI ports, two USB-A ports, an optical audio port, and a 3.5mm audio port. The projector runs on Google TV, so you can access streaming apps without a dongle, and has a pair of built-in 12W speakers developed by Harman Kardon.
