Doja Cat celebrated her collab with Fortnite by live-streaming the popular battle royale game – and fans can’t get enough.
Last week, Doja Cat was announced as the headline event of the spooky, Halloween-themed ‘Fortnitemares 2025’ update. “Fear gets a new face. Meet the Mother of Thorns, Doja Cat, who’s twisting Battle Royale into her haunted kingdom and unleashing chaos with a wild cast of characters. From Jason to Wednesday Addams to Scooby-Doo and Ghost Face, VIPs of fright await,” reads the official announcement, with a number of new themed skins, weapons and in-game rewards available over the next few weeks.
To mark the occasion, Doja Cat streamed herself playing Fortnite for three hours. She started by wrestling a plastic skeleton from her gaming chair and within the first five minutes, went viral for cackling at Joseph Quinn’s The Fantastic Four in-game skin after the pair were rumoured to have dated last year.

Elsewhere during the stream, she treated viewers to renditions of HUNTR/X’s ‘Golden’ from Kpop Demon Hunters, Ariana Grande’s ‘Breathin’’ and Tyla’s ‘PUSH 2 START’.
She also got involved in the chaos of Fortnite and even got eliminated by a fan wearing a Doja Cat skin. “I killed myself, what the fuck?”

“Doja Cat playing Fortnite has me crying,” reads one viral tweet that also features a clip of the singer telling rival players to not shoot her while she’s flying. “That’s such weak-minded bullshit. Who does that?” Doja said before pre-emptively addressing backlash for swearing in front of young fans and breaking into song after losing a match. “Absolute cinema,” said one fan. “She plays like one of my friends,” wrote another.
“Friendly reminder that Doja Cat, one of the big attractions of this season’s Fortnitemares, does indeed play the game often,” reads one Reddit thread alongside screenshots of Doja calling out Fortnite players for using the now-scrapped Chain Of Hades weapon.
The Doja Cat x Fortnite collab didn’t get off to a great start though, with the ‘Vie’ singer calling out Epic Games for making a sex toy joke as part of an official Doja Cat X takeover. “Lord, someone knock on the cubicle at Fortnite headquarters. Right now they’re tweeting about sex toys [and] acting like I’m tweeting that shit,” she wrote in a now deleted tweet. Hours later, all seemed to be forgiven with Doja Cat promising to spend all weekend playing Fortnite and calling her collab the “best thing that’s ever happened to me”.
‘Fortnitemares 2025’ will be live until November 1 while Fortnite Festival will get two new tracks (‘AAAHH MEN!’ and ‘Gorgeous’) from Doja Cat’s recent album ‘Vie’ as part of the collab.
In other news, Glen Powell is “very interested” in taking on a starring role in the planned Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 movie adaptation.
