Ryan Serhant’s Wife Emilia Reveals She Is Joining His Brokerage—as She Pivots From Lawyer to Licensed Real Estate Agent

Real estate mogul Ryan Serhant is turning his eponymous brokerage into a family business—welcoming his wife, Emilia Bechrakis Serhant, as the newest SERHANT. agent.

The surprise move means there will now be two Serhants based at the firm’s New York City headquarters, with Ryan, 41, serving as founder and CEO, while Emilia, 40, works in the office alongside fellow real estate agent Melissa Post

Ryan and Emilia met in 2014 and famously got engaged that same year, with the “Owning Manhattan” star popping the question in Times Square, while the reality TV cameras captured every minute of the romantic milestone.

The duo then tied the knot in Greece—where Emilia’s parents were born—in 2016 and welcomed daughter Zena, now 6, in 2019.

Emilia—who earned three law degrees from top U.K. universities—practiced maritime law until 2016. She then transitioned to the land title insurance industry, where she held positions with two of the largest title companies: Commonwealth Land Title Insurance and most recently, Kensington Vanguard National Land Services.

Emilia has also volunteered her time with various organizations such as Building Better Futures and Water.org, and authored the children’s book “To the Moon and Back for You,” which was inspired by her difficult fertility journey.

While Emilia has had a front-row seat to Ryan’s rise in real estate over the last decade, her interest in the industry actually predates their time together.

“Growing up in a real estate family between New York and Athens, I have always had a passion for the business,” she revealed in a press release shared with Realtor.com®.

The pivot from law to land titles and now to a real estate license might be a move no one saw coming—however Emilia insists that her decision to join SERHANT. was not entirely motivated by her husband, explaining that she chose the brokerage because it’s “the best.”

“When it came to choosing a brokerage and reviewing my options, and after weighing them all carefully, I ultimately chose SERHANT.,” she said. “Of course, that decision had absolutely nothing to do with my husband—it’s simply the best and most innovative firm to build a career in real estate today.”

The news of Emilia’s employment at SERHANT. coincides with the firm’s five-year anniversary this month and comes during the company’s annual three-day training conference, which Ryan leads.

In fact, Ryan appeared to drop a hint about his wife’s career pivot when he posted an Instagram photo of them posing together at the event in Orlando with the caption, “Day 2 has some BIG surprises.”

Once word became official, Ryan sang Emilia’s praises and revealed he’s thrilled to bring her on board to the business.

“Emilia is brilliant, determined, and has already achieved so much in her career,” he said. “SERHANT. has grown bigger and more successful than we ever imagined, providing the resources, support, and platform for top agents and teams to thrive with AI, media, and educational support.”

In addition to her new gig assisting sellers and buyers, it seems Emilia will also continue her role on real estate reality TV.

Emilia made appearances on Season 1 of the Netflix hit “Owning Manhattan,” which of course followed her recurring run on “Million Dollar Listing New York” and series spinoffs “Million Dollar Listing: Ryan’s Wedding” and “Million Dollar Listing: Ryan’s Renovation.”

The couple encountered divorce rumors earlier this year when fans noticed Ryan had reduced Emilia’s presence on his social media channels, however the celebrity real estate agent told TMZ at the time there was no truth to the rumblings.

“We are still very happily married,” he confirmed to the outlet, before adding, “and yes she still puts up with me.”

Following a summer of traveling together as a family—and posting the pictures online to prove it—it seems the Serhants are more than ready to put up with one another on their next joint adventure that marries their personal and professional lives.
